Please arrive with freshly cleansed skin. This is one of the most important steps you can take to prepare for your appointment.
On the day of your service, shower beforehand and ensure the treatment area is free of lotions, oils, deodorant, makeup, sunscreen, and self-tanner. Exfoliate the area thoroughly 48 hours prior to your appointment, but do not exfoliate on the day of your service.
Arriving with clean skin helps provide the best possible results and allows your service to begin promptly.
Yes! One of my favorite pre-appointment tips is to stay well hydrated, especially here in our dry desert climate. Drinking plenty of water is part of good skin care and may help keep your skin feeling its best before your appointment.
While everyone's skin is different, many clients find they feel more comfortable when they arrive well hydrated. It's a simple habit I encourage year-round for healthy-looking skin.
Hair should be about ¼ inch long (approximately 3+ weeks of growth after shaving).
Yes. You can absolutely receive most sugaring services while on your menstrual cycle. Simply arrive wearing a fresh tampon, menstrual cup, or disc before your appointment. Please note that you may experience increased sensitivity during this time.
Because menstrual cycles are expected and can be accommodated, being on your period is not considered a valid reason for a same-day cancellation or no-show. If you choose not to keep your scheduled appointment, the studio's cancellation policy and applicable fees will still apply.
Everyone experiences discomfort differently, and certain areas may be more sensitive than others. Most clients find that discomfort decreases with regular maintenance as the hair becomes finer and easier to remove.
Some clients choose to take an over-the-counter pain reliever before their appointment. This is a personal choice and is neither required nor recommended by the studio.
No. Shaving disrupts the hair growth cycle and makes future appointments less effective.
That's perfectly fine. Your first few appointments may require some patience as your hair growth becomes more synchronized.
Yes. Sugaring is generally gentle and suitable for most skin types.
Certain prescription and over-the-counter retinoids may make your skin too delicate for facial sugaring. Please let me know what you're using before your appointment.
Absolutely! I have cared for many pregnant clients throughout their pregnancies and have performed countless successful sugaring appointments.
Whether you're a new or existing client, pregnancy does not automatically prevent you from receiving sugaring services. However, if you have a high-risk pregnancy, pregnancy-related complications, or concerns, please consult your healthcare provider before your appointment.
Clients who begin sugaring before becoming pregnant often find their appointments more comfortable because they are already on a regular maintenance schedule and their hair is typically finer and easier to remove. My goal is always to provide a safe, comfortable, and supportive experience, with your treatment adjusted as needed for your comfort.
Loose, comfortable clothing is recommended, especially after body or Brazilian services.
Sugaring removes hair in the natural direction of growth, helping reduce breakage and irritation while gently exfoliating the skin.
Proper aftercare is essential for the best results.
For the first 24 hours, unless otherwise instructed during your appointment, avoid touching the treated area unless your hands are clean, as freshly sugared skin is more susceptible to bacteria. Avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, jacuzzis, saunas, steam rooms, hot baths, strenuous exercise, excessive sweating, direct sun exposure, tanning beds, self-tanners, and heavily fragranced products. Wear loose, breathable clothing to minimize friction.
After 48 hours, begin exfoliating the area 2–3 times per week and keep the skin moisturized with a gentle moisturizer or body oil to help prevent ingrown hairs and maintain smooth, healthy skin.
